The Al Damani electric vehicle factory in Dubai Industrial City has officially opened its doors. This comes following the successful completion of its construction, which began in March this year. 

The $408 million project’s opening announcement was made by the Dubai Industrial City and M Glory Holding Group. Its opening ceremony had the Chairman of the Board of Directors of M Glory Holding Group, Majida Al-Azazi present. Additionally, the Executive Vice President of Tecom Group, Saud Abu Al-Shawareb alongside other business leaders and media representatives was in attendance.

M Glory, through an official statement, said that the project represents a major milestone when it boils down to the manufacturing of electric cars. Furthermore, the project aims to meet the ever-rising demand for green mobility. Additionally, it also aims to contribute towards the reduction of global carbon emissions.

The Al Damani electric vehicle factory in Dubai Industrial City currently includes a temporary assembly line. Of which plans to become operational within two years. For starters, the 45,000 square feet factory aims to build well about 10,000 cars in a year. Thereafter, the factory aims to reach a production capacity of 55,000 electric cars within a year.

Post-production, M Glory said that the electric cars will be exported to the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Additional countries will include, Tanzania, Senegal, Egypt, Kenya as well as Mali. Saud Abu Al-Shawareb said that the project’s historic milestone will contribute towards the provision of another source of energy which is low-emission.

For the United Arab Emirates and surrounding regions, the project will create a more sustainable future. Furthermore, the Executive Vice President noted that the project would pivot the manufacturing sector in further supporting the national Net Zero Strategy. Which, Al-Shawareb explained would be reach accomplished through the project’s delivery of cutting-edge technologically supported solutions.
