Street improvement works for Dubai’s Al Manama Street have been completed by 67%. The project’s progress was officially confirmed by the Roads and Transport Authority commonly known as “RTA”.

The latter is the major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects. The authority, which is a department of the Government of Dubai, also has legislation and strategic plans mandate of transportation in the city.

Scope of the project

Dubai’s Al Manama Street project aims to transform the first three intersections on Al Manama Street. These include Sanaa Street, and Al Hamar Street alongside Aden street.

Additionally, improvement works will also include a new traffic corridor linking Al Meydan Street with Al Manama Street. The link will be through a bridge with a total of 4 lanes in each direction. These lanes are set to facilitate a total capacity of 8000 vehicles per hour per direction.

Furthermore, Dubai’s Al Manama Street project also features the construction of slip lanes that will link with the Dubai-Al Ain Road.

Aim of Dubai’s Al Manama Street improvements project

The project aims to cut the delay rates as well as improve the smooth flow of traffic, especially around intersections. The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai is set to complete the improvement works by the third quarter of 2022.

Moreover, the Authority confirmed that the project is within the domain of the recently unveiled, Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project. As it stands, Dubai is among the fastest developing cities in the world. Thus, its Roads and Transport Authority aims to always provide an advanced transport network on a world-class level for its residents. Additionally, it also aims to develop roads across the emirate that make travel smoother as well as safer.
