Algerian Sports minister Mohamed Tahmi has announced that Oran Olympic Football stadium will be operational by the end of 2015.
The stadium is under construction in the locality of Belgaid at the eastern edge of the city of Oran, and will have a seating capacity of 40,000 people, athletic field, a swimming pool, and sports halls for other disciplines, hotel and other related structures.

The stadium is part of of the first phase of construction of Olympic complex, a major project that will have a tennis club, velodome, swimming pools and regional centre of sports medicine.

The construction of the stadium has reached 65% completion and the minister urged the building company in charge of the project to increase its workforce in order to meet the delivery deadline. He was speaking during the inspection of the site where the future stadium will hosted.

The minister added that the construction works of the complex will be launched once the stadium and a running track have been delivered. The whole project will be delivered by the end of 2018.

Oran Olympic Stadium which is named after the legendary football player MC Oran Abdelkader , is a multi use stadium that will replace the current Ahmed Zabana Stadium and will host the home matches of MC Oran.
