The construction of a 24-storey office building in Cape Town South Africa has commenced; this is according to Abland, one of South Africa’s leading property developers, together with their JV Partners- The Ellerine Brothers.

The development of Cape Town’s newest office tower- 35 Lower Long will be on Lower Long Street. It will be a four star green building and is set to transform the site that was previously known as the Ernst & Young offices into a 24-storey development.

Currently, construction of the internal stripping of the building and external demolition are ongoing. The completion date will be the first quarter of 2020.

Features of the office building

The mega project will comprise of 13 446m² of a premium-grade office space, along with 323 m² of retail space. Moreover, development of a 9 above-ground parking levels and a penthouse on the on the top floor will take place.

However, priority has been given to activating the entire street edges of Lower Long & Jetty Street with multiple entry points and a prominent double volume entrance space.

Good location

The property is in a good location with close proximity to the main train station. This makes it more accessible for people commuting via public transport. Motorists also have easy access to the N1, N2 and the Western Seaboard.

In addition, amenities such as hotels, restaurants and bars surround the building making this a very popular precinct.

The building will have a modern look characterized by beautifully designed glazed façades. It will extend seamlessly over both the office and parking levels by using glass façades with generous floor to ceiling heights.
