An overview of the bridge
Constructed using precast and pre-stressed beams, the total length of the new bridge is 1300m and its width is 30m. According to Arab contractors, the bridge has 4 ramps to facilitate the traffic exchange with the Ring Road and El Marg Street, and it passes above El Marg’s Wastewater Station, metro station, and regions bus station.
With a total of 7 traffic lanes, upon completion, it will serve the traffic from Maadi and New Cairo heading to El Zakat Foundation and El Marg till Alexandria Agricultural Road, as well the traffic from El Zakat Foundation to Mostorod.
The main objective of the El Salam Bridge is to contribute to eliminating the traffic jams that are mainly experienced during peak hours in the El Salam Tunnel, causing traffic obstruction.
