The construction of a proposed fabrication yard at Ras Al Khair port, in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia, has begun. This comes following a groundbreaking ceremony held recently by the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).
In a statement, the subsidiary of the National Marine Dredging Company said that the new yard will be 40,000-square-meter. It will house the fabrication of platforms as well as jackets. The state-of-art facility will also include automated workshops in addition to an advanced marine system.

The fabrication yard at Ras Al Khair port will be constructed in three phases. The first phase of the project will be completed by the third quarter of 2023. However, be operational between all three phases of construction providing maintenance, fabrication, erection, and rigging services.
The facility aims to reach well up to 60,000 tonnes in a year. Its capacity goals are projected to be achieved by the end of its final phase by 2026.

The National Marine Dredging Group CEO Engineer spoke about the project. Yasser Zaghloul said that the brand-new fabrication is more than just a milestone accomplishment. The project, he said, builds on the longstanding relationship as well as the ongoing growth journey within Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, Zaghloul continued, the project immensely contributes to the firm’s expansion strategy within the country. Its location is within Saudi Arabia’s newest industrial port, Ras Al Khair. Impressively, the port serves well over 100 manufacturing projects in total. Moreover, it boasts a total area of 23 kilometers squared.
The CEO of The National Petroleum Construction Company also spoke about the project. Engineer Ahmed Al Dhaheri said that the project’s milestone accomplishment lays the foundation for the company’s next growth chapter. Furthermore, the new yard further signals and strengthens clients’ trust in NPCC’s capabilities.
