In addition, Mr. Majaliwa cautioned them against theft and vandalism and encouraged them to be watchful and protect the equipment needed to complete the project.
The project is in line with the CCM Election Manifesto for 2020 to 2025 as well as changing the landscape of Dodoma City and becoming one of the city’s landmarks.
Furthermore, it is aligned with the Third Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP III). It gave the development of the new capital major priority.
The need to reposition public services close to the people, according to the document, was a major factor in the decision to move the hub of government activities to Dodoma.
In order to meet the increased demand brought on by the population increase, FYDP III for developing the new capital included the construction as well as strengthening of infrastructure for transportation and travel, education, health, water, and state offices.
The construction of government town buildings and offices; the improvement of infrastructure for sports, entertainment, and the arts; the building and strengthening of travel and transportation infrastructure; and the maintenance of initiatives for the conservation of the environment and green urban development of Dodoma City are identified as key interventions in the document.
