The foundation stone has been laid to mark the official start of the construction phase of a Pediatric Medical Complex at Cairo International University on the 6th of October City. Built on an area of ​​88,000 square meters, the complex will be the largest of its kind not just in Egypt but in the entire Middle East region.
It will have a total of 6 buildings housing the main hospital, a hotel for the families of patients, a training center and nursing institute, housing for doctors and nursing, and two service buildings the first of which will be dedicated to air-conditioning rooms, and the second to the gas and boiler station.

Features and amenities of the pediatric medical complex at Cairo University
The complex, the inauguration of which is scheduled to take place after three years, in 2024, will have a total of 10 operating rooms equipped with the latest medical equipment, 5 nursing units/accommodation with a total of 140 patient beds, 7 intensive care units serving approximately 67 patients and 44 outpatient clinics for all pediatric specialties.
It will also have an integrated radiology department, laboratories section, and emergency department, dialysis department, physical therapy department, central pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, two major lecture halls, and 8 classrooms in addition to green spaces.
The objective of the project
The President of Cairo University, Mohamed Elkhosht, said that the project for the construction of the Pediatric Medical Complex at Cairo University, as well as the development and renewal processes that are taking place in Cairo University hospitals, aim to improve health services provided to all citizens from all governorates, completely free of charge, in light of the interest in the human being and the citizen who is able to contribute to building a new Egypt that we all dream of.
