Construction of the first of 1,000 homes at the new Vaux neighborhood at Riverside Sunderland is set to commence. The project is planned for the area to double the number of people living in the city center. Sunderland City Council signed a deal for North East-based Tolent to construct the 135 ultra-modern homes.

The stunning sustainable homes will be built by Tolent as part of a £40 million project. Additionally, they will use cutting-edge building techniques, renewable energy sources, and innovative technology. These will be able to minimize the development’s carbon footprint. Furthermore, it will produce high-end, low-carbon properties right in the middle of the city. The homes will be situated next to The Beam and City Hall, the newest addition to Riverside Sunderland.

Construction on the project is anticipated to start in the coming weeks. Thus, it will form the first of the new distinct neighborhoods. It will produce housing for up to 2,500 residents in the city center.
