The former Citroen garage site in Brentford, West London, is being developed. It is done as part of a new project being worked on by the housing association L&Q and Hill Group. The development is slated to produce 441 new homes, a resident’s gym, and a new nursery. The project at the former Citroen garage site is located in the center of the Brentford regeneration region. Furthermore, it is close to the new stadium for Brentford FC and London Irish.
50% of the new homes will be inexpensive and include a combination of Shared Ownership and Affordable Rented housing. Thus, plans call for five structures with a combined height of up to 18 stories, and southerly views of the Thames and Kew Gardens. Additionally, it will also have a public square and investments in local infrastructure upgrades.
The joint venture partnership will also engage in major employment, training, and community-focused opportunities. This will go through construction. Thus, it will benefit the local community in a number of other ways. Residents are anticipated to move into the first affordable homes by September 2024. Construction work has already begun on site. By the end of 2026, the project at the former Citroen garage site is anticipated to be completed.

“We are thrilled to be pushing this fascinating project forward along with our partners at The Hill Group,” said Vicky Savage, executive group director of Development and Sales at L&Q.
“This is an important renovation for this location. It will result in the construction of a sizable number of desperately needed, affordable homes in a lovely new neighborhood. We were able to get the spades in the ground. Additionally, we have invested in jobs and opportunities for locals by partnering with Hill, a like-minded partner who shares our vision for the area.”
“We are pleased to be on-site and beginning our first joint venture with L&Q, one of the most well-regarded housing associations in the country,” said Cain Peters, regional director for The Hill Group.
“We are committed to enhancing Brentford’s social value. Thus, we will collaborate closely with the neighborhood to offer training and employment opportunities. If locals are interested in a career in building, they are invited to get in touch.”
