Conceived and developed by Al Zarroni Emirates Investments, Citizens School Dubai, has finally been handed over after approximately three years of construction. The groundbreaking event for the project was done in July 2019.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project faced a spectrum of obstacles. These obstacles caused the project to slow down construction in July 2020 and later on resumed in September 2021.

The school was designed by Godwin Austen Johnson (GAJ), the largest and longest-established UK architectural and design practice. The main contractor of the project was Intermass, the flagship company and one of the most prominent construction companies in the UAE.

Citizens School Dubai features and amenities

The school is projected to hold a capacity of well about 2’600 children. It features spaces that will help create a welcoming as well as an immediate contact point for parents, teachers as well as students. These spaces include the parent’s café, the reception, the learning stairs, and the lobby. At the heart of the school lies the wide interactive staircase.

Students will also enjoy 1,250 meters squared multi-purpose hall. Additionally, the school will feature 2,900 meters squared open recreational and playing area, and rugby and football pitches. The pitches will adhere to World Rugby as well as FIFA standards.

Noteworthy, Intermass and GAJ focused on placing special attention on the layout and design in ensuring that parents and students who seek special educational help do not feel left out.

Expectations for the project

Citizens School Dubai is expected to follow the UK National Curriculum. To also provide an “experience-based, inclusive curriculum” the school will also follow its custom-built curriculum known as the “Citizens Tapestry”.

Tuition fees for the school will range from $9,809 to $14,167. Fees will be inclusive of all educational resources.Â
