The Oman Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth and Water Resource aims to award a consultancy contract for the Recharge Dam Project in Wadi AL Batha, Ash’sharqiyah North, and South, by the second quarter of this year.
This comes following a tendering process that began in December last year with the bid submissions scheduled for 15th February 2022. The bidders included LibanConsult Consulting Engineer with a value of US$ 787,015, Artelia Muscat Engineering Consultancy with a value of US$ 905,496, and Conser & Partners with a value of US$ 1,378,388.

Others are Al Abraj Consulting Engineers and Architects with a value of US$ 962,257, Dar Al Handasah with a value of US$ 1,531,291, and Via International Engineering Consultancy with a value of US$ 909,080.
Scope of the contract for Recharge Dam Project in Wadi AL Batha
The contract covers the detailed design services and feasibility study of the project, which will be carried out in two separate phases. Phase one of the contract will include the objective of studying the feasibility of constructing recharge dams through various promising locations in varying Wadi channels. This will be towards augmenting groundwater resources of the area with an aim to offer benefits to surrounding villages and settlements.
The second phase will involve detailed designs and drawings for recharge dams and other project components such as access roads, temporary diversion, and the construction of culverts. It will also involve the final economic analysis and preparation of tender documents for the aforementioned plans and interventions.
The overall project is planned to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025.
