Arosa Developers has its eye on building what could become the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale. The massive project, a 54 story, 600-foot tower, presented to the Fort Lauderdale Design Review Committee on January 14. If approved, the tower will stand at 314 N.E. 3rd Street, within the city’s Regional Activity Center.
The tower, designed by the locally based FSMY Architects & Planners, will feature 607 apartments, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. It will also include 3,727 square feet of commercial space, 659 parking spaces, and a rooftop bar. The development is slated to replace a 27,591-square-foot parking lot situated between The Rise at Flagler Village, a 30-story building, and Nola Lofts.
Currently, the 499-foot-tall 100 Las Olas condominium holds the title of Fort Lauderdale’s tallest building. However, other developers have proposed even taller structures. For instance, Kushner Companies and AIMCO secured rights to build two towers, each up to 572 feet tall, at 200 and 300 W. Broward Boulevard. Additionally, Dependable Equities plans to construct a high-rise at least 530 feet tall at 633 S.E. Third Avenue.
If Arosa Developers’ project proceeds it will be a key addition to the Fort Lauderdale skyline and further evidence of the city’s growth as a center for modern mixed-use developments.
