The minister of state for transportation, Prince Ademola, has assured the residents of Ondo and Ekiti States that the federal government has not abandoned the reconstruction of Akure-Ado Ekiti road.
Ademola made this statement on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to his office at the Federal Ministry of Transportation. From a delegation of the Ondo State House of Assembly, led by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.
According to him, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, the Minister of Works and Housing, who has prioritized the road for the government, initiated the action to investigate the contract given in 2020 due to the difficulties the contractor was encountering in carrying out the project.

Remarks on the Reconstruction of Akure-Ado Ekiti road
He said, “I want to ask for patience since I am aware of the difficulties on that route. To make sure that we don’t encounter any obstacles when the project resumes, the Minister of Works is taking steps. I therefore want to reassure our people that the initiative won’t be shelved.”
The Minister emphasized that the Federal Government acknowledges the significance of the proposed port to the blue economy concept of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government. While also assuring that the proposed deep sea port in Ondo State will soon become a reality.
Adegoroye referred to the state legislators’ visit as historic and praised them for being genuine representatives of their constituents. But he made a pledge that his office would look into every development problem brought up by the delegation.
According to Mr. Bamidele Oleyelogun, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, who spoke earlier, the visit was made to establish a working connection between the Ondo State House of Assembly and the Minister, a former member of the House.
Therefore, he encouraged the Minister to serve as a focal point for the State’s citizens. By helping the All Progressives Congress, win the State in the general elections of 2023.
