Solar tracker manufacturer, GameChange Solar has secured deal to supply trackers in Egypt’s 1GW Abydos phase II solar project. The contract was awarded by the project’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor. It is a joint venture of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) and also Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company (ZTPC). GameChange Solar said it will supply its Genius Tracker 1P Single Row system for the Abydos Solar PV Plant – Phase II. The tracker is being developed by UAE-headquartered renewable energy company AMEA Power.
The Abydos Solar PV plant-Phase II comprises 1GW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant. Furthermore, it will include 600MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) spanning an area of 20 square kilometers in Benban, Aswan Governorate. Vikas Bansal, President – International, GameChange Solar, said: “Following the successful execution of Abydos I, a 560 MW project that has now reached commercial operation, this significant order reflects the trust we’ve built through strong collaboration and reliable execution.”

Scope of Implementation on Egypt’s Abydos Phase II Solar Project
The scope of implementation on Egypt’s Abydos Phase II solar project places commissioning of the project in May 2026. Spanning 20km² in Aswan Governorate, the facility is expected to produce 3,000GWh of electricity annually. This is sufficient to power more than 500,000 households. Furthermore, it reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1 million tonnes annually. GameChange Solar provides solar tracker solutions for utility-scale and ground-mounted distributed generation solar projects globally.

Moreover, the company has delivered 43GW of solar trackers and fixed tilt systems. Its products allow solar panels to follow the sun’s movement, optimizing plant performance and protecting the array from adverse weather. In June 2025, GameChange Solar announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia to 6GW annually. This expansion will double its current capacity and will be completed by September 2025. The facility will continue to manufacture GameChange Solar’s advanced Genius Tracker systems for utility-scale projects.
