The construction of the Garuga stadium in Uganda is reportedly in good progress. The project’s site is situated at Kateebe, Bugabo (Katabi Town Council). The site is close to the busy Kampala-Entebbe Highway.
Two of the stadium stands facing the massive Lake Victoria are currently under construction. In addition, a foundation slab is already in place on the other two sides. For the past three years, construction has progressed steadily. Many people are benefiting from their hard labor on the site.
Regarding who owns this impressive facility, there are a lot of unanswered questions. Currently, the operation is controlled by an individual named David Kikomeko. The latter is based in South Africa and is being helped by a number of other stakeholders.
When completed, Garuga stadium will be an all-seater arena that can hold approximately 30,000 people.
What will be housed by the Garuga stadium
The stadium will be able to house an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a football pitch, and a running track. There will also be a tennis court, volleyball courts, netball courts, and four training grounds.
The Garuga stadium is a part of the solution to Uganda’s shortage of sports facilities in Katabi Town Council. The Mayor of Katabi Town Council, Ronald Kalema Bassamula’ekere, earlier spoke to Kawowo Sports on the project. He said that they authorized the great project after picturing the worthwhile development and significant benefits. The stadium will not only benefit the Katabi Town Council, but also the Wakiso District, and Uganda for a while.
In addition to the main stadium, there are also facilities for the educational amenity (Denva). Construction of the educational amenity began at the same time as the main facility’s groundbreaking.
