The construction of Airport 85 Business Center, which is Collett Industrial’s first project in Charlotte’s market, has commenced. The Class A project will be executed by Colliers, a commercial real estate company working in partnership with Collett Industrial,  a subsidiary of the Charlotte-based Collett.

Airport 85 Business Center’s construction site is located at 4250 Business Center Drive, off Exit 32 from Interstate 85 near Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This 154,920 square foot Class A industrial building is designed to accommodate a capacity of over 40,000 square feet, for both single and multiple tenants. The expected delivery date of this project is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.

Airport 85 Business center will consist of 32-foot clear heights, 20 trailer parking lots, and 32 dock-high doors. The construction will also feature a 60’ speed bay, a 130’ Truck Court, and a parking lot with a capacity of 118 vehicles. Other features to be included would be an ESFR fire suppression system with LED lighting and two Drive-in doors. The building will also have office spaces to suit all utilities available.

Collett Industrial and Colliers have enlisted the services of the Carolina-based MCA Architecture for the design, while the main construction will be handled by MDV Engineering;  Vannoy Construction will serve as the general contractor; and Matthews Construction, will be the  architect of the project.

According to a partner at Collett Industrial Mike Robbe, the project’s location is right, as it will serve the needs of today’s industrial users and also the ground-breaking is coming at the perfect time, to meet the industrial demand of the Charlotte market which is at an unprecedented height.

Rob Speir, the Senior Director of Colliers also said, “Colliers is proud to partner with Collett Industrial on their newest speculative development in the Carolinas.” Airport 85 Business Center will be Collett Industrial’s third development in North Carolina, behind 73 Business centers in Greensboro and Mills River Industrial in Mills River.
