PA Hospitality has plans to build a dual-branded Home2Suites and Tru hotel by Hilton in Houston, Texas. The Houston-based development company recently received a $37,400,000 ground-up construction loan from Hall Structured Finance for the project. However, it was Arriba Capital, an Arizona-based investment firm that brokered the deal for the loan acquisition.
PA Hospitality will not only handle the development of the 221-room hotel, but also the hotel’s management upon completion. The developers expect the groundbreaking of the Home2Suites and Tru hotel to commence by the year’s end. But the construction has been scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2024. The project team will include EE Reed Construction as the general contractor, and MCS Architects who will serve as the designer.

Construction on the Home2Suites and Tru hotel will take place at 1514 Leeland St., close to Toyota’s Center in downtown Houston. According to the developers, this 9-story hotel will offer more options during large events or festivities. Especially when the city’s convention hotels are at full capacity.
Development plans for the Home2Suites and Tru hotel
The Home2Suites and Tru hotel will feature regular lodgings and extended stay options. The Tru by Hilton brand will provide lodging suited for cost-conscious travelers. While on the other hand, the Home2 Suites by Hilton brand will cater to guests seeking the extended-stay option. Therefore, the Home2 Suites section of the hotel offers 400-square-foot suite-style rooms, along with kitchens and separate sleeping areas.
Several amenities are planned for the Home2Suites and Tru hotel including breakfast and dining areas for each brand. Other featured amenities include a shared lobby with a bar, outdoor pool, meeting space, gym, guest laundry room, and market pantry. The property’s design plans show that the public spaces will be on the first floor and part of the second floor. While guest rooms will occupy floors two through nine. On-site parking will also be included as part of the development.
