The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has begun construction works for the Hatta Waterfalls project. The authority said that the project’s conceptualization is inspired by architectural innovation.

Interestingly, the region is globally known and famous for its honey. As a result, the Hatta Waterfalls project’s concept further draws inspiration from the hexagonal beehive design.

Hatta Waterfalls project to adhere to highest & international environmental standards

The project is a part of the DEWA’S social as well as investment responsibility to make Hatta a spectacular tourist destination.

It will feature lively and picturesque oases. The four oases will have bridges that cross the water canal. Furthermore, the project will make use of a slope on the upper dame of the Hatta plant to create a natural waterfall. Thereafter, a waterway will be built below the dam.

From there, the water that will be in use at the waterfall will be drawn from the end of the stream. After going through recycling, it will then be pumped right back to the top of the dam. The Hatta Waterfalls project will also curate spaces for restaurants as well as recreational activities.

The CEO & MD of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer shed more light on the project. He began by assuring that the project is well in alignment with contributing to sustainable development all over Dubai.

Furthermore, Al Tayer continued, the Hatta Waterfalls project strives to develop Hatta alongside provide innovative job opportunities. Additionally, the project aims to create a sustainable and natural environment in the region.

In addition to the shops that will be selling honey, the four oases featured will have restaurants and coffee shops. Lastly, the project will take into account the highest and international environmental standards to preserve the Hatta Mountain Reserve.
