NCC’s heating network expansion project in Gladsaxe, Copenhagen
As the main contractor, NCC’s scope of work will range from metal works, the excavation processes and pipe laying. The heating expansion project in Copanhagen’s Gladsaxe municipality will cover approximately 19km.
The whole piping stretch will serve about 1,500 households in the municipality. Construction work will begin in April. This will be soon after the projects’ value particulars have been registered in the NCC infrastructure business area.
Head of NCC Infrastructure remarked of the heating network expansion project in Copenhagen as important to Denmark’s transition to lower energy emissions. “[…] we can use the expertise and experience we have gained from major civil engineering works in densely populated settings to help our customers efficiently make the transition,” added Kenneth Nilsson.
NCC’s second project in Gladsaxe, Denmark
Close to mid-January this year, NCC also won another contract to expand a heating network in Denmark. The area involved stretched approximately 4.5km and will serve up to 450 homes once complete in 2026. NCC then began the planning and execution of the SEK 150 million project with main focus on pipe laying and forging works.
“[…] We have many years of experience working in densely populated areas, where it is important to take both residents and traffic into consideration. This requires an overview, careful planning and strong collaboration,” said Michael Thomsen, Manager Utilities, NCC Infrastructure.
