Nexus W2V has so far raised $140 million, including $75 million which came in the form of a structured equity commitment from Orion Infrastructure Capital to in develop its flagship Kingsbury Bioenergy Complex in La Porte, Indiana. The Complex facility will produce renewable natural gas (RNG) through the conversion of organic waste and other related products.

โ€œIn line with our new capital partnership, Nexus W2V is ready for developing top-class projects in the waste-to-value industry throughout North America and OIC is glad to be a contributor to these advanced solutions for efficient landfill diversion and emission reduction,โ€ says Chris Leary who is an investment partner at OIC.

The facility is situated in La Porte which is 70 miles from Chicago and is expected to process 200 tons of organic waste per day, the facility will create 35 permanent jobs when fully completed at end of 2026. Other investors include Nexus Holdings, Khasma Capital, and Ameris Bank.

โ€œNational waste is on the rise, and the laws regarding waste management are changing rather fast, which has to lead to positive changes in the industry,โ€ comments Ben Hubbard, CEO of Nexus Holdings. โ€œNexus W2V is a changing company and offering a competitive waste disposal solution that is also beneficial for energy and environment.โ€

What else will Nexus W2V Kingsbury bioenergy complex produce?

Besides RNG, Nexus W2V says that it also creates compost products and biochar. According to Nexus W2V, the RNG will be fed into the existing pipeline of Northern Indiana and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

โ€œThe Kingsbury Bioenergy Complex will be able to address the organic waste management needs of the greater Chicago area and western Indiana,โ€ Roshan Vani, the CEO of Nexus W2V.

The CEO says the complex could be a precursor to more to come. โ€œItโ€™s the first in a series of waste-to-value projects that Nexus W2V has planned across the United States and is a look at how we intend to approach the waste-to-value system,โ€ says Vani.

The RNG, compost products, and biochar are the main focus of Nexus W2V by transforming organic waste streams; this is evident at the Kingsbury Bioenergy Complex. Comprising of persons who are veteran workers in the waste and energy sectors, the Nexus W2V team has more than 20 years of experience in the industrial design and construction, bio-energy development, and regenerative agriculture.
