Brains and Hammers Limited, has commenced the construction of a new housing development that will comprise of 3,500 homes named “Brains & Hammers City” in the heart of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in Abuja, Nigeria.

The company has confirmed to construct a turnkey residential and commercial housing units project ranging from one bedroom apartments, two-bedroom flats, three-bedroom flats, four-bedroom terraces, four-bedroom semi-detached and five-bedroom fully detached modern homes. The 72-hectare project will be located in the district of Life Camp, Abuja.

The real estate development and management company aims at providing secure quality gated communities. Additionally, the company’s proposed city will feature key infrastructures such as a water treatment plant, schools, hospital, 24/7 electricity, gymnasium, swimming pool, jogging track, a spa, restaurants, cinema, parks, a mini-theme park for kids and gardens among other features.

The commercial area will consist of major branded retail supermarkets, schools, clinics and office spaces. The city project when completed will serve mid and high-level residents at affordable price points, the group stated.

The estate company has so far completed over 1,000 residential homes across Nigeria and work is currently ongoing for additional 1,000 more housing units. However, the company’s current development portfolio includes residential projects within Lagos and Abuja. The projects will be executed at Galadimawa, Gwarimpa, Life Camp, Apo I, Apo II, Apo III, Apo IV, Apo V, all in Abuja and along the Lekki corridor in Lagos.

Nonetheless, the company has successfully provided infrastructure of access roads and streetlights of over 10km leading to their various estates. The roads have been completed with adequate drainage along with streetlights as part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR). In the meantime the company continues to provide trade and vocational employment opportunities to each surrounding community.

According to Brains and Hammers Ltd Managing Director, Umar Abdullahi, the company has managed to incorporate international building codes and standards with mid-to-high end features while maintaining a safe community for living and entertaining for the proposed 72-hectare real estate development project.
