Nigeria’s airports are likely to fall under the auctioneer’s gavel in line with the Federal Government reform programme.

Mr. Benjamin Ezra Dikki, the Director General of Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), speaking at the 9th Abuja International Trade Fair, said, procedures are underway to engage experts to design an appropriate framework for the concession, after which the Ministry of Aviation and the bureau would begin the process of their concession. The fair trade was organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ABUCIMA).

Other enterprises listed for auction this year include residential houses, assets of Nigeria Coal Corporation (NCC), in Inyi, Amansiodo, Okpara and Onyema Coal Blocks, Nigeria Coal Blocks, Owupa Coal Block, Naraguta and Maiduguri Bricks, non-core assets of Makeri and Mineral Houses, residential houses/vacant lands and Ogwashi-Azagba Coal Block.

NMC Joint Venture and Associated Companies is also likely to be auctioned. Privatization of Ajaokuta Steel Company and NIOMCO is also among property scheduled for privatization.
