The Ogun State is set to embark on the construction of roads and malls in Nigeria. The State is set to upgrade rural roads measuring 1,235 kilometers within four years. According to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure’s PS Mr Kayode Ademolake the project is being spearheaded by the dividends of democracy in the state.
The construction of roads and malls in Nigeria he added will also see the state bringing up mega projects including shopping malls that will encourage self employment. The state government has already constructed a shopping mall in Isale Igbehin, Itoku and Omida Markets which are all located in the state while other projects such the road upgrading are underway
The report said the state government had already completed the project of the shopping mall located in Sapon Market in Abeokuta South Local Government area of the state.
All the mega shopping malls in Isale Igbehin, Itoku and Omida Markets, are situated within Ogun Central Senatorial District, have reached advanced stages of completion.
The state Government’s decision to start the project of the mega shopping malls was informed by the fact that markets located within the districts were demolished to give the rights of way for the Ogun Standard roads.
None of the markets was demolished in the Ogun East and Ogun West Senatorial Districts to give rights of way for the roads constructed there.
The mega shopping malls situated in Abeokuta will be replicated in the two remaining senatorial districts in the state because the governor believes in equity and fairness.

The  Omida mega Shopping Mall has gone all the way to the construction work that has reached the third floor and soon, it will be completed the statement said.

The statement also noted that the government had not commenced the allocation of the shops in the already finished shopping mall at the Sapon Market it wanted to ensure fairness in the allocation.
The allocation would commence as soon as the course involved was completed
