American Airlines is moving forward with building Skyview 6 Hotel, as part of its $1 billion Fort-Worth campus expansion in Dallas. However, the $250 million hotel will not be open to the public. It’s intended to cater for the airline’s staff during training and business meetings.

Skyview 6 Hotel has been under construction since 2019, but the airline had to put the project on hold temporarily. This delay was as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. After weathering the storm, American Airlines began renewing their efforts to complete the hotel in 2021.

Design plans for the Skyview 6 Hotel

The nine-story Skyview 6 Hotel is  replacing the old 300-room  flight attendant hotel, which was on the site previously. The airline said the new hotel would offer 600 units, along with a plethora of on-site amenities for employees to enjoy. Several such amenities include art installations, lounge areas for studying, and “the tavern” for socializing. Additionally, employees will have access to a 73,000-square-foot fitness center with a pool, and volleyball, tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts. What’s more, the hotel will also feature a 10,000-square-foot ballroom for hosting large events, as well as a courtyard.

According to the airline, Skyview 6 Hotel will function as a vital meeting, resting and socializing hub for its employees. But in addition to this, the space will also double as a learning and development environment. American Airlines mentioned that the hotel would be linked to the crew training and conference facilities available on campus. Therefore, airline employees like flight attendants, airport agents, and pilots will be lodged at the hotel during their training programs. It will also be accessible to other staff for events like  business meetings.

American Airlines said  the Skyview 6 Hotel is intended to simplify visiting experiences  for team members. Especially since it offers them a place to lodge, eat, socialize and work out,  at the heart of the airline’s campus.
