The construction works for the Al Furjan Park’s are reportedly 85% completed. This was revealed by the Supervisory Committee of the Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar. The committee made the revelation alongside the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
MME is a service Ministry directly related to the general public. The responsibility of the service ministry is to meet the requirements of the public’s daily life. In addition, MME’s mandate is to contribute through its subsidiary departments, municipalities, and centers, to the rapid development of the State of Qatar.

About the Al Furjan Park’s project
The project features an array of sports and entertainment facilities that span several municipalities. These include a total number of 14 parks that including the Al Mearad park, the Al Wajbah park as well as the Al Thumama park, just to name a few. The parks span an area of 123,048 meters squared.
Al Furjan Park’s aim is to provide recreational spaces for residents within the area while still ensuring easy access without having to move to far places. As a result, the project will reflect positively on the residents’ health.Â
The Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Beautification of Roads and Public Places spoke about the project. Eng. Muhammad Arqoub Al Khaldi said that Al Furjan Park’s project is keen on contributing to the development of the public parks system within Qatar.

Moreover, he said the project’s implementation acts as a continuation of the committee’s efforts to improve the resident’s quality of life, protect the environment as well as achieve environmental sustainability for all generations.
The project’s design manager on the committee also spoke and gave insight into the project. Eng. Jazmine Sheikh stated that the facilities in each park have been designed in alignment with the needs of the residents. Especially, individuals with special needs as well as the elderly.
Additionally, the project’s design features an array of exits and entrances that are visible to visitors to ensure safety.
