A California-based, cannabis product company, Cookies LLC intends to build the Cookies HQ Facility in DeLand, Florida. This project is worth about $100 million in capital investment and is expected to bring about 400 jobs to the community, ranging from cultivating to packaging and management positions. It will also be the first minority-owned business to get one of the state’s few medical marijuana treatment center licenses.
Located off the U.S. Route 92, the Cookies HQ Facility will be developed on a 400,000 square foot manufacturing site which was once owned by the Brunswick Corporation. In addition to taking over this property, city officials mentioned that the company will also make use of the 20 acres of undeveloped land on the site for new construction, which will be part of phase one.

For almost a year, the DeLand Economic Development Manager, Nick Conte has been leading a group of community leaders, towards the recruitment of Cookies and this deal was finally sealed recently. Conte was excited about this new development and gave more insights on the new Cookies HQ Facility, which involves the redevelopment of one of the city’s largest unutilized properties in the Northwest Industrial Business Park.
Conte said, “The company has chosen the DeLand location as its operational hub for the state of Florida and beyond, and we couldn’t be happier to have them as part of our community.”
The Mayor, Robert F. Apgar also welcomed Cookies warmly to the community. He pointed out that the entire investment for the Cookies HQ Facility and other developments on the project’s site, was one of the largest to be seen in the history of their city’s commercial sector and it would help in creating hundreds of high paying jobs in the community over time.
Apgar said, “COOKIES is an outstanding organization, and I am looking forward to watching them become an integral part of DeLand.”
Renovations for the new Cookies HQ Facility are taking place behind closed doors; although, the company still shares information from time to time, about the ongoing site work.
