The US$4.1 billion Rehabilitation of Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah initiative is being developed in stages to guarantee that the project’s Zero Impact to Travelers aim is maintained. Furthermore, the airfield concrete paving package’s Design Pack 20 includes all airfield and civil construction around the North Concourse East. Other significant project components include the Midfield Vehicle Tunnel Ramp and Walls, the destruction of existing taxiways and aprons, the removal of existing utilities, the installation of storm drain, water and sewer, airfield signage and lighting, and communications/electrical duct banks. The project is set to begin construction in February 2022. Once completed, the airport will support 34 million passengers who travel through it each year.

“We are pleased to be a part of the historic New Rehabilitation of Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah project,” said Sterling CEO Joseph Cutillo. RLW has been a significant contribution to this project, and this award demonstrates our capacity to provide value-added services and solutions to our clients. Our strategic transition in our Heavy Civil sector to alternate delivery aircraft projects is progressing well and will be an important element of our strategy going ahead. The New Salt Lake City International Airport project is an excellent example of the sort of environmentally conscious public works projects with which Sterling wants to be identified.”
