18th August  2025 –  Sacramento Republic FC has officially broken ground on its new soccer stadium in the Railyards on August 18, 2025, marking a major milestone for the club. The $321 million project is designed with an initial capacity of 12,000 seats, with the flexibility to expand to around 20,000 to meet Major League Soccer (MLS) requirements. It will be one of the exciting stadiums under construction in the USA.

The stadium will feature a canopy over the grandstands, upgraded fan amenities, and modern infrastructure to align with league standards. The project is seen as the cornerstone for Republic FC’s long-anticipated move from the United Soccer League to MLS, positioning Sacramento to compete on the country’s premier soccer stage.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with the new stadium serving as both a community hub and a catalyst for economic development in the downtown Railyards district.

Febuary 2025 – Turner Construction Company has been named as the lead builder for Republic FC’s new 12,000-seat downtown Sacramento stadium. Turner’s resume includes some of the world’s most iconic sports venues—Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and TQL Stadium for FC Cincinnati—each a testament to their commitment to sustainability, fan-focused design, and construction excellence.

“This is an incredible opportunity to recognize the forward momentum and lasting benefits this project will bring to the community where we live and work,” said Drake Costa, Vice President and General Manager, Turner Construction Company. “Our shared values with Wilton Rancheria and Republic FC make this partnership especially meaningful. Together, we’re creating a stadium that reflects Sacramento’s heritage, strengthens community ties, and paves the way for the city’s future.”

Beyond the build itself, Turner and Republic FC will collaborate on workforce development initiatives, support local businesses, and drive long-term economic growth. The project is projected to generate over 1,200 construction jobs and inject more than $240 million into the Sacramento economy.

Sacramento Republic FC recently unveiled a new rendering of its planned stadium in the Railyards, providing a new perspective from the southwest entrance and concourse. The new feature, created by MANICA Architecture, was not included in previous renderings, a club spokesperson explained.

The club announced Tuesday, February 18 that it is making “significant progress” toward opening the stadium in 2027. Groundbreaking will take place later this summer.

Construction Cost

The long-awaited stadium project gained momentum when Wilton Rancheria became Sacramento Republic FC’s majority owner and pledged Railyards investment, leading to unanimous financial approval from the Sacramento City Council in November. The entire project will cover 31 acres, with total costs for the stadium, a new entertainment venue, and supporting infrastructure at $321 million.

The 12,000-seat stadium is expected to be completed by 2027 under the initial term sheet. Republic FC has partnered with global firm Elevate to conduct a fan survey in a bid to ensure the venue represents the identity of the region and works for the fans and community and will also conduct a community focus group.
