As part of the NSW Government Transport Access Program, a contract accessibility upgrade has been awarded in favor of the Taree railway station in Australia. This was revealed by Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Sam Farraway.

The contract, the cost of which is approximately $3.6 million was awarded to Abi Civil. The company specializes in providing a diverse range of civil services to infrastructure and Government sectors. In addition, the company serves the private commercial building industry.

As per the New South Wales Taree railway station contract, Abi Civil will work on the installation of accessibility features. These features include ramp as well as footpath upgrades. Additionally, the respected leader in civil and building construction will also work on car park walkway improvement. Furthermore, the company will renovate the waiting room as well as the ticket counter.

The Minister for Roads and Transport further noted that in the incoming weeks, the project will begin its development works which will include the upgrading of two accessible car spaces. Moreover, the project will provide amenities that include family-accessible washrooms. Lastly, Sam Farraway concluded by revealing that the project will also install tactile indicators along the platform.
