Plans are underway for the development of Miami’s tallest skyscraper referred to as the Major Residential Tower. The New-York based developers, Major Food Group and JDS Development partnered to build this luxury residential tower, which will rise to a height of 1,049 feet and attain the maximum tower height set by the Federal Aviation Administration in Miami.
The Major Residential Tower to have 259 condominiums
The Major Residential Tower will be built at the site of an existing 49-year-old, seven story office building positioned on a 22,568-square-foot plot, at 888 Brickell Ave. Development plans for the residential tower include 259 condominiums, hospitality spaces, and according to officials of JDS Development Group, several standalone restaurants and private clubs will be among the concepts introduced. Although the floor count of the tower is currently not known, it has been determined that the development will yield approximately 1 million square feet.

This luxury residential tower will be located at prime real estate site in Brickel, which is just a block away from the 862-foot-tall Panorama Tower; a popular land mark in Miami, currently recorded as the tallest building in the area. Developers anticipate that upon completion, the Major Residential Tower will take it’s position in Miami’s rising skyline as the tallest building and they also intend on providing prospective residents with a collection of food and beverage amenities, which can match up to the best services that any building in Miami has to offer.
According to the Major Food Group Co-founder, Jeff Zalaznick, the company’s goal is to build the most luxurious residential tower in the world, at one of the most dynamic cities in the United States. Zalaznick also pointed out that this would be implemented by developing a thrilling array of spaces and amenities that no other building can match.
Other companies involved in developing the Major Tower include the Studio Sofield, serving as the design architect for the tower and interior designer for the lobby and residences; and San Francisco-based Ken Fulk, designer for the food, beverage, and club spaces. While MFG will be in charge of overseeing all branding and hospitality programming.
