Kenya to construct US $6.2m eight-storey office complex in Nairobi

A US $6.2m eight-storey office complex is set for construction in Nairobi, Kenya by the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE).

The firm is planning to set up the mega building in its property along Agwings Kodhek road, in Upper Hill, Nairobi and will mainly be funded by internal reserves generated from member contributions through the development levy, sale of naming rights, direct donations and debt.

The new development will house FKE headquarters, staff offices as well as meeting rooms where training and negotiations will be held. It will also accommodate a modern resource centre.

FKE National President Mark Obuya pointed out during an annual meeting that the project will be implemented in the 2018-2022 strategic plan period.

“I am happy to be re-elected as president once again and promise to execute our strategic plan to make FKE self-sustaining by implementing the office development project,” he said.

Projects’ benefits

The project will not only secure the future of the federation but will also provide extra revenue from renting out extra office space and parking bays in the area.

The Federation of Kenya Employers is the national umbrella body and the voice of employers in Kenya. It serves as a platform for the articulation of key concerns of the employers in Kenya in the areas of socio-economic development. It is the most representative employers’ organization in the country, representing the employers’ interests both locally and internationally.
