Construction of the East End Market Phase II project will soon kick off on a 10 acres site in Raleigh, which was acquired through a joint venture between the Raleigh-based real estate investment firm, SLI Capital and the Atlanta-based real estate development and investment company, Regent Partners, for mixed-use development.

This $18 million site, located on Whitaker Mill Road between Wake Forest Forest Road and Atlantic Avenue, is intended to build a food and beverage destination that  features a collection of restaurants, apartments, shops and office spaces.

East End Market Phase II project will cover a new set of developments which include 235,000 square feet of office space, 40,000 square feet of retail, food and beverage space and 465 apartments. It is fully financed through a joint venture with Koch Real Estate Investments. Construction of this second phase will begin without any pre-leasing and is slated for completion in late 2023.

East End Market’s Phase I construction project is a $30million development which started in March and is scheduled for completion by the year’s end, with the first set of tenants expected to move in soon after. It spreads over 71,900 square feet and is being handled by SLI Capital and Atlas Stark, with the tenant listing consisting of the East End Bistro, a French chop house by acclaimed restaurateur Giorgios Bakatsias; Shady Grove Cider Co., Raleigh’s first cidery; Common Desk, a Texas-based coworking brand; and local businesses Campion Capital and Piedmont Capital.

The Managing Partner at Atlas Stark, Gabe Guillois explained that they had observed the success of other lifestyle neighborhoods and he guaranteed that the developments taking place would make East End into the next top desirable location in the Southeast.

Managing Partner of SLI Capital, Bryan Kane mentioned that East End would bring more excitement to the Raleigh market and close the gap in neighborhoods like South End Charlotte and Midtown Atlanta. Bryan also said, “Raleigh is in need of a food and beverage-oriented destination in an authentic environment, and we’re very excited to participate in the neighborhood’s continued evolution.”
