Matan Companies has announced that they have plans for the transformation of Milestone Business Park into Milestone Innovation Park, which will be a vibrant and collaborative life sciences destination. The transformation involves the addition of 532,000 sq ft of best-in-class life science research and biomanufacturing space. There will be three, brand new facilities in the highly sought-after location sit along the I-270 Biotech Corridor with prominent visibility on I-270 at Father Hurley Boulevard in Montgomery County, Maryland. Once completed, the innovation park will be over 1.2 million square feet, making it one the largest, science-based destinations in the BioHealth region.

The Matan Milestone business park transformation is scheduled to begin in early 2022 and slated to be completed by the summer of 2023. It will be the premier location for companies with large research and biomanufacturing requirements; offering 33’ clear ceiling heights to accommodate a wide array of bio users and their supply chain, as well as significant floor loads and 40’x40’ column spacing to support their mezzanine requirements. Tenants can expect ample loading spaces, parking, secure outdoor equipment areas, and solar vehicle charging stations. “We are going to deliver three, next-generation research and biomanufacturing buildings. We already consist of 40% research, development, and tech manufacturing users.” said a representative of Matan Companies.

Matan intends to take advantage of a new program that will provide a more streamlined, concurrent review of the sketch, preliminary, and site plans called the “Speed to Market” initiative. The program is going to help save valuable time for potential new tenants and helping spur new economic and employment growth opportunities in the area. “ We recognize our fast-paced growth as an international Immunology Capital which draws global leaders to our highly educated workforce and proximity to NIH; the world’s largest federal researcher, and the FDA, the world’s largest federal regulator.” said the MCEDC President, Benjamin H. Wu.
