Developer MEPC has started plans for phase 2 development of the £700m Birmingham paradise scheme. Three detailed new planning applications have been presented to the Birmingham City Council. The £700m Birmingham paradise scheme includes a 17-storey hotel located at the south western corner of the development and an adjoining 10-storey office structure, Three Chamberlain Square and a fronting Paradise Street.
The regional development director with Paradise development manager MEPC, Rob Groves said that their determination at Paradise has always been to develop a truly mixed-use development and in the proposals for creating the £700m Birmingham paradise scheme they will be bringing together plans for hotel and leisure use, exemplary commercial area and a big amount of modern public spaces. “Moving ahead with a number of new structures presently is a massive vote of confidence in Birmingham and the regional economy’s Covid pandemic recovery, ” he added.

The £700m Birmingham paradise scheme.
The new paradise hotel was designed by hotel experts, ISA Architecture and Paradise master planners Glenn Howells. The hotel will comprise of 152 bedrooms, a food and beverage offering ground floor and a sky bar with panoramic views over the city. The modern 180,000 sq ft office structure and the three Chamberlain Square were designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios being among the most sustainable commercial areas ever brought forward across the city.
The series of new pedestrian routes and public squares around the development were designed by Grant Associates landscape architects and will be constructed from the success of the modern public realm like the Chamberlain Square. The first phase of Paradise, which was earlier this year completed, includes the first two structures; One Chamberlain Square and Two Chamberlain Square, constructed by BAM Construction. Birmingham City Council awarded planning permission in April for the 49-storey, 155m tall Octagon residential structure at the northern edge of Paradise, offering 370 flats to the city centre.
