Nigeria’s home owners having problems of dirt or leakage with their roofs will now have a sigh of relief. This is due to the introduction of a scientific approach to roofing by Messrs plus Word Roofing.
The firm said that it will provide services that come with better options of restoring roofs at a minimum cost. The client is not expected to pull down the whole roof or move out of the house during repair.
Messrs plus Word Roofing’s Managing Director Mr John Igbaifua said at an awareness creation seminar in Lagos that he was motivated to go into the project when he encountered problems with a roof construction he was handling.
Igbaifua pointed out that he discovered that a lot of roof problems could actually be resolved without pulling down the entire building.
Presently, the company is collaborating with a foreign partner to provide special services in roof repairs, waterproofing and painting. Problems with roofs, according to him, arise from dirt, leakages, deterioration and damages, including truss. He further observed that homeowners spend millions of naira to correct the anomalies.
Mr. Igbaifua, who introduced Nutech Paints to the participants, said it has specially formulated primers, sealers, and top coats for a wide range of roof surfaces. The paint was designed to withstand any tough environment by protecting and enhancing the appearance of the roof, while keeping the building cooler in hot weather.
He said. “It saves homeowners from total replacement of the old roof; stops any moisture from absorbing into the surface of the roof; protects the roof in high winds and violent weather; reflects back most of the sun ray, thereby making the inside temperature cooler; protects one of the most leak prone areas of the roof; and improves the quality and purity of water run-off.”
The highlight of the event was the practical demonstration carried out among the youths and artisans on how the products work.
One of his foreign partners, Mr Calr Evans, also talked about roof repair and water proofing, pointing out that it has proved to be an efficient way of resolving buildings with roof challenges.
