The Zimbabwe Association of Consulting Engineers was formed in order to represent the interests of Consulting Engineers in Zimbabwe.

The aims are as follows:
To Represent all its Members on issues of common interest.
Stop all its members from taking part in contracting or the selling of engineering products, thus maintaining their independence and also ensuring that advice given to clients does not lean on one side.
Promote a high level of skill and ability amongst its members.
Maintain a very high level of professionalism and moral practice amongst its members.
Promote a high level of skill and ability amongst its members.
To suggest fee scales that will give its members fair reward for their services and at the same time ensure that the Client receives value for money.
And also to manage the Consulting Engineering profession in Zimbabwe.

Application for Membership
The membership has three categories:
Member
A practicing consulting engineer in Zimbabwe. This can be either individually, as a director in a firm of consulting engineers in Zimbabwe or also as a partner.
Member Firm
A firm in which at least two thirds of the ownership is in the hands of Members.
Associate Member
This is a person who qualifies to be a Member but he or she is not a director in a firm of consulting engineers, consultant or partner.

Processing of the applications takes upto 6 weeks . Once the Council has approved an application and no objection arises from the members , then the applicant will be informed.
