The South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) is a Juristic person established by Section 2 of the Project and Construction Management Act (Act No 48 of 2000).
The SACPCMP was established to regulate Construction Management and Construction Project Management Professionals to protect the public. The SACPCMP fulfils the statutory mandate by:

B.  POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SACPCMP STUDENT CHAPTER REGISTRATION |
Possible opportunities for Student Chapter registration include  but are not limited to, the following:
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Attendance of Seminars and Conferences to increase professional knowledge and to network with registered persons in the Construction Management and Construction Project Management Professions.
b)Â Â Â Â Â Â Full access to the SACPCMP website containing an expanded range of information and services including a resource library, references, regulatory updates and discussion forums through an exclusive Student Chapter portal. c)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Learnership, internship and vocational job opportunities within the industry where possible. d)Â Â Â Â Â Â Students registered in the Student Chapter Category will receive the SACPCMP newsletter and any other necessary publications. e)Â Â Â Â Â Â Students may be eligible to compete for student prizes at the SACPCMP Annual Conference. f)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Upon successful completion of studies, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration in the Candidate category with the SACPCMP. SECTION II – Â STUDENT CHAPTER REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

A.   REGISTRATION CRITERIA FOR STUDENT CHAPTER CATEGORY |
To be eligible for registration in the Student Chapter category:
a)      A student must be enrolled full/part time in an undergraduate/post graduate  program with a major in Building Science or Construction Management b)      The student must be undertaking studies at a recognised university or tertiary institution. |
B.   SACPCMP STUDENT CHAPTER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS |
Students are required by the SACPCMP to submit the following documentation for consideration for registration: a)      A complete prescribed SACPCMP Student Chapter Registration Application Form b)      A signed declaration to abide by the SACPCMP Code of Conduct – the student must read, understand and sign acceptance to abide by the SACPCMP Code of Conduct c)       Proof of enrolment to signify that the student is registered with the university or tertiary institution of study clearly reflecting the student number and details of the program of study d)      Certified copy of Identity Document e)      Certified copies of academic transcripts f)        Certified copies of relevant qualification certificates and other relevant memberships or registrations with similar institutions g)      Curriculum Vitae (in the prescribed format) only for successful students h)      Certified copies of South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Evaluation – in the case of foreign qualifications  Applicants who do not meet all the Student Chapter category requirements will not be considered for registration.  |
C.   CONDITIONS FOR DE-REGISTRATION AND REFUSAL TO REGISTER A STUDENT |
The Council may deregister or refuse to register the student based on the following reasons:
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Upon completion of studies
b)Â Â Â Â Â Â Upon termination of studies
c)Â Â Â Â Â Â On contravention of the SACPCMP Code of Conduct |

D. SACPCMP STUDENT CHAPTER REGISTRATION FEES |
a)      Registration Fees – Upon successful application with the SACPCMP, a student is required to pay a non-refundable annual registration fee of R100 (One Hundred Rands Only) and send proof of payment to the SACPCMP within the period prescribed by the SACPCMP.
b)      Sponsorship – The SACPCMP is cognisant of the fact that some students may not afford the R100 fees because of their indigence. Such students may contact the SACPCMP office for assistance. The SACPCMP will not be responsible for paying registration fees for such students, but may at its own discretion approach SACPCMP registered persons, to assist/sponsor needy students upon confirmation of the student’s indigence with the respective university. If agreeable, the sponsor will then take up the responsibility of paying the fees for the respective student(s).
Registered persons are encouraged to assist needy students, but are not obliged to do so. Therefore, a sponsor may choose to terminate his/her sponsorship at any time, depending on his/her financial status.
c)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The annual Student Chapter Registration fee is only valid for one calendar year (ending on 31st December annually).
d)Â Â Â Â Â Â Proof of payment – Payment may be made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), money order, direct deposit or by a crossed cheque made and payable to SACPCMP.

All payments from outside of South Africa must be made in South African Rands by international bank draft or money order. Upon successful application, an invoice will be emailed to the applicant. Â The applicant will be issued with a Student Chapter Registration Certificate valid for one calendar year upon receipt of proof of payment.

E.   ANNUAL APPLICATION  AND DEADLINES |
a)      Application Deadlines – The application deadline is 15th May annually. Each student must ensure that his/her application reaches the Council office on or before the due date.
Applications with incomplete documentation will be automatically disqualified. Applicants will be contacted within one month of the application deadline to confirm status of application. Should you not hear from the SACPCMP within this period, you are advised to contact the Council office.
b)      Annual Renewals – SACPCMP Student Chapter registration is only valid for one calendar year. To ensure continuity of                                                   your registration while you are a student, you must re-apply at the commencement of each Study/University year.  |
F.   ASSESSMENT OUTCOME |
a)Â Notification of Registration Status – The SACPCMP will assess each application and make recommendations for registration or non-registration, respectively. The student will be notified in writing (within 30 days from the application deadline) of his/her Student Chapter registration status once the assessment has been finalised.

G.   RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STUDENT REGISTERED IN THE SACPCMP STUDENT CHAPTER              Â
