The Kenyan Coast is a popular holiday destination. Every year, thousands of foreign and domestic tourists troop to the sandy beaches along the Indian Ocean to enjoy the serenity amid the pamper from hotels and clubs dotted throughout the region.

While some prefer to put up in hotels, a growing number of visitors are looking for opportunities to buy or lease apartments that they can use whenever they wish and probably rent out when not in use for long periods.

Developers have therefore identified this need and are coming up with suitable luxury apartments in the area.

Milele Apartments will be one such development.

Introduction

Milele Apartments is a real estate development representing managed furnished and serviced holiday apartments along the Bamburi beach in Mombasa, as part of a pre-conceived remodeling plan of the existing Milele Beach Hotel.

The development comprises 60 elegantly designed all en suite luxurious 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments sitting on one acre. Each apartment will enjoy an unobstructed view of the Indian Ocean. Construction works started in March 2012 and are expected to end in October 2013.

The development comprises four blocks of apartments, a conference room, a restaurant and a spa.  The spa will have the following amenties: steam, sauna, jaccuzzi, barber shop, salon, aerobics and gymnasium.  The facilities will be owned by Milele Beach Hotel.

In addition, the development will have a swimming pool, a waste water treatment plant,  a back-up generator, solar panels for water heating and a borehole.

The design is open plan, thus giving residents a great view to the beach.  Access to the beach will be through Milele Beach Hotel.

Inside the Apartments

The bedrooms are en suite, spacious, with large wardrobes, adequate natural lighting and ventilation. The lounge and dining are also large. Each of the apartments has a balcony accessed from the lounge.

There is a fully fitted open plan kitchen with a breakfast area. The plinth areas are as follows: 1 bedroom – 86sq.m; 2 bedroom – 117sq.m; 3 bedroom – 160sq.m

Management and Returns

Upon completion the apartments will be managed by Milele Beach Hotel on behalf of the apartment owners.

This will ensure that the apartment owners have a guaranteed income through out the year.  Milele Beach Hotel has a unique niche in the beach hotels segment since it is a Christian non smoking, non alcoholic hotel.  As a result,  it has a wide clientele from religious organisations, NGOs, institutions among others.
