The expansion program will entail an additional 30 medical beds, 12 pediatric beds, 10 daycare beds, a new neonatal intensive care unit with four additional beds, 26 cardiac beds, the installation of a catheterization lab (for cardiac treatment), two additional theatres, a new pharmacy and emergency center, a new kitchen and laundry, as well as a triple-storey parking deck with 360 parking bays.
In addition, 16 specialist suites will be added and the hospital has brought in much-needed benefits to the community. The hospital, which has a staff complement of 350, plans to employ 100 additional nursing staff and 20 additional support staff as a result of the expansion.
