U.S. data center firm RadiusDC is targeting Planfield, Indiana to set up two 100,000 sq. ft. data centers outside Indianapolis. Local news reports noted that the Planfield plan commission this week unanimously approved a primary plat petition for a data center project. Furthermore, according to Planfield’s website, Radius Data Centers has noted its interests to set up the project.

The company seeks to develop the project on a combined 31 acres, each totaling 100,853 sq. ft. This will be located on the southwest corner of Smith Road and Allpoints Parkway. The site is currently zoned for office/warehouse use.

Though the scope of the project is divulged, not much information has been offered such as the timeline of the project. Plainfield is a town in Hendricks County, Indiana located in the southwest outskirts of Indianapolis. The project’s proposals are set to go before the town council next week. Indiana is seeing a rise in data centers as companies such as Amazon have already shown interest by investing $26 billion in the region. The funds are being used in the development of various data centers in the region such as one in New Carlisle.

Setbacks that Impede the Implementation of RadiusDC Plainfield Indiana Data Centers

The construction of the RadiusDC data centers in Plainfield, Indiana is one that seems will get approval. However it does not come without setbacks as residents of the area are already showing opposition. Change.org petition against the proposals has gained a modest 110 signatures at the time of writing. However, this has been online for not more than 24 hours.

The petition is quickly garnering signatures as 78 signatures were signed as of today. IPI Partners first launched RadiusDC in 2022 as an Edge firm, focusing on metro markets. IPI was acquired by Blue Owl last year.

RadiusDC’s existing footprint includes data centers in Denver, Colorado, and Miami, Florida. The firms has also made strides in Miami where it acquired a facility in 2024. At the last quarter of 2025, the firm broke ground on a new colocation facility in Nashville, Tennessee. These efforts show the strides RadiusDC is making to establish itself in the surging data center market.
