State-owned Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) received bids for the 105,000 sq. m+ contract for the Qiddiya City staff accommodation project. Its scope entails the construction of staff units within the rapidly growing city. The tender was issued in October last year. QIC is accelerating plans to develop additional assets at Qiddiya City. For instance, QIC has started the main construction works on its performing arts center at Qiddiya Entertainment City.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of QIC. Moreover, the project site is located near the Tuwaiq Mountains in Qiddiya. The city’s performing arts center is one of several major projects within the greater Qiddiya development. Another significant staff accommodation is the $8 billion NEOM housing accommodation PPP.

Other than the Qiddiya City staff accommodation project and the performing arts center, much grander projects are taking shape. These include an e-sports games arena and the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman stadium. Moreover, it includes a motor sport track, the Dragon Ball and a Six Flags theme park and Aquarabia. The theme park covers an area of 320,000 sq m and features 28 rides and attractions.

Conversely, 10 of them are thrill rides and 18 designed for families and young children. The Qiddiya project is a key part of Riyadh’s strategy to boost leisure tourism in the kingdom.
