CTX2 A.I Campus Facility

U.S.-based data center firm Serverfarm has topped out its latest CTX2 A.I campus facility based in Houston, Texas. Over the weekend, the company noted that it had topped out the project on its official LinkedIn page. A subsidiary of Manulife, Serverfarm marked their entrance in Houston by acquiring two facilities built and occupied by HP and later DXC. Since 2024, the company has thrived in the region as they recently filed to expand both sites with additional buildings last year.

The current data center site, CTX2, is located on 15555 Cutten Road in Houston. The development is a 438,000 sq. ft. facility located adjacent to its existing data centers there. Once complete, the new building will expand Serverfarm’s HOU2 site, a two-building campus close to the former Compaq/HP HQ in Cypress Creek. Various data centers in Texas are taking shape such as the Project Matador data center campus in Amarillo, Texas.

Outlook on the CTX2 A.I Campus Facility in Texas

The CTX2 A.I campus facility is part of Severfarm’s grander scope to complete the HOU2 data center project. At full build-out, the HOU2 data center campus will span almost 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sqm). Moreover, it will span across two buildings with secured customer capacity to scale to 100MW using available existing grid power. In their LinkedIn post, Severfarm attributed the project’s success to CEO Avner Papoudchador and other officials such as their Chief Development Officer, Sam Brown. During celebrations, the team also celebrated reaching 50,000+ hours worked without injury or lost time.

“This is meaningful, the first new out-of-the-ground building for Serverfarm in Texas,” Avner commented. “It has been a great experience for us.  Our long-term partner Clune Construction Company as always, did a great job.

There is no better than Mario Calderone at real estate and Sam Brown and crew at development. I don’t have any exes in Texas that I can remember, but definitely have a beautiful current and something to show for it,” he added. Serverfarm, founded in 2009 by real estate development firm Red Sea Group and acquired by Manulife in 2023, operates ten data centers. Seven of these are based in the U.S.
