Development Agreement Includes Strict Noise and Buffer Requirements

The agreement mandates a hard noise ceiling of 65 decibels across all data center facilities. Additionally, Google will have to keep a 500-foot buffer zone between any facility and residential areas in the vicinity of Pumpkin Center. Water and lighting requirements are incorporated into development requirements to safeguard neighbouring communities. In addition, Google takes care of all the energy and infrastructure expenses of the project. The company is working directly with Georgia Power, and has made it clear that electricity demand will not increase the cost of electricity to ratepayers in the area.
