Construction Review




Construction Review Online is looking for a proactive Online Reporter to breathe new life into our construction project articles that have not been updated in over  months 6 months or more. We don’t just want writers; we want “digital investigators” who can track down the real-time status of major construction milestones. These are worldwide projects.

It will involve identifying people or in some instances groups associated with a projec. They can be identified by posts or comments made related to the project as stakeholders. The posts/comments will be on social social media reddit, youtube, LinkedIn,  facebook. etc This includes people living in proximity to the projects, workers in the project itself, developers, contractors or suppliers to the project. Initiative will be key here.

You will be required to engage them in conversation seeking information to update the old post. (You would include the link to the current post)

Payment will be in mpesa for every post updated with information not yet found online that provides information on the status of the project.

The Mission:

  • Identify & Research: Identify a significant ongoing projects we’ve featured in the past (older than 6 months) and find their current “ground-truth” status.
  • Source Hunting: Join relevant Facebook/LinkedIn groups, monitor Twitter/X, and find the specific personnel or neighbors who are seeing the project happen in real-time.
  • Direct Outreach: Contact stakeholders, firms, and experts via social media or email to request exclusive updates, quotes, or recent images.
  • Be First: Beat other media outlets by publishing authentic, credible news on project milestones before they become “old news.”

Who You Are:

  • You have strong journalistic instincts and high initiative.
  • You aren’t afraid to “cold-contact” professionals or project managers for information and engage them in conversation.
  • You are a “Power User” of social media (LinkedIn, FB, X) for research, not just scrolling.
  • You can turn raw data and social media tips into professional, polished blog updates.

The Goal: To be the first online source for authentic, updated news on the world’s biggest projects.

Payment via mpesa: Competitive, performance-based (Per post updated/refreshed).

Part 1

The first part of the assignment is to identify projects that have not been updated in  6 months. Pick at least 3

Part 2

Once your choices are approved you will submit a form like  the example on the downloaded word document.

Part 3

Once you document is approved. You will do the actual research involving reaching out to the individuals you identified and submit any information you get that is exclusive and that we can use to update the post

Part 4

You will then be enabled to actually edit the post and once approved it will be published and payment of 500/= made immediately.

Once you are successful with at least one post updaet you will be paid and allowed to become one of our freelance inestigatie reporters! The more posts you update the more you will learn.
