Earlier this year, Cero Generation secured financial close for a 360MW portfolio comprising the Bramley, Beaufield and Burcot solar and battery projects. The funding package enables procurement, engineering and construction activities to advance while supporting the wider program’s rollout.

The portfolio also recorded another breakthrough after the Bumble Bee project achieved financial close. Located near Doncaster, the development combines a 78MW solar farm with a 120MW battery energy storage system. Construction is expected to strengthen grid flexibility while increasing renewable electricity generation across northern England.

Meanwhile, Enso Energy completed financing for the 140MWh Lower Larks Battery Storage Project. The facility will provide additional storage capacity for renewable electricity and improve system reliability once it enters commercial operation in 2027.

These developments demonstrate how battery storage has become central to Britain’s renewable energy strategy. Developers increasingly integrate batteries with solar farms to improve grid stability, reduce renewable curtailment and maximize electricity dispatch during peak demand.
