Following the government’s approval of the smart cities concept last year in line with Vision 2030 imperatives, the Zvishavane will soon get a taste of how technological advancements enable self-sufficiency by establishing cutting-edge infrastructure as preparations for the Sharon Valley Smart City begin.
Sharon Valley Smart City, a project created by Coppermeadows Properties (Pvt) Ltd with Property World as the selling agent, will have world-class amenities including schools, a medical centre, industrial parks, high-rise apartments, and an airstrip.

The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works approved Coppermeadows Properties’ landowner to build the smart city.
THE VISION
The city will provide all vital services to inhabitants’ doorsteps, as is usual in digital cities, removing the difficulty and costs of travelling elsewhere to acquire services.
Sharon Valley Smart City Location
The projected smart city is located in the Runde Rural District Council of Zvishavane, which borders the Runde River and will attract prospective inhabitants from all demographics.
The project is divided into two stages, each encompassing 350 hectares and 328 hectares, with 1 260 high density stands of around 300 square metres, 663 middle density stands of approximately 400 square metres, and 430 low density stands.
Thanks to 130 hectares set aside for peri-urban farming enterprises, the city will be self-sufficient.
Mr Andrew Meikle, the firm’s operations director, recently reported that Phase 1 of the project, which is slated to be completed by the end of October, has completed more than 6 kilometres of road work.
The bushes and sewer pump area have been cleaned, and culverts and drain pipes to link the city’s high-density neighbourhoods have been erected.
Due to the mountainous nature of the terrain, septic tanks would be used in the medium and low-density zones, according to Mr Meikle. Mr Shahid Siddiqui, the project’s marketing and finance director, who brings 40 years of development experience to the joint venture from Property World (Pvt) Limited, said the project’s take-off would be phenomenal, boosted by encouraging uptake, and that investors and other businesspeople could benefit from the opportunities Sharon Valley offered.
There are 69 different company booths spread out across 14 hectares.
The building would be regulated, according to Mr Siddiqui, because the concept represents one of the highest standards of development.
Contractors will be brought on board to allow ambitious homeowners to purchase a completed home. Buyers can pick between one and two-hectare plots.
