Would you like to go on a road trip? we’ll be taking about the Longest American Road adventure. Thus we’re going to cross the country from one coast to the another one and from north to south. Finally you are ready to go, do yourself justice by buckling up, give your window a fast shut, and let’s hit the streets!

1. U.S. Route 20

The road to which we are referring spans from Boston, Massachusetts, to Newport, Oregon. It used to be the second longest route in the USA, being overtaken quite recently. Its original course of action was shortened by making it pass through Yellowstone National Park, while Route 30 stayed on track towards reaching Oregon states. Furthermore, the highway was extended, which all in all resulted with the total length of 3,277 miles making it Longest American Road. Besides that, this figure was less that Route 6 miles distance which was as long as 3,652 miles, running from Provincetown, Massachusetts to Long Beach, California. Yet, in 1965, Route 6 was abbreviated on the California extremity, taking place of Route 20 as hilly top.

2. US-6

This has been as some time too the national Longest American Road. Accordingly, there is one more lettuce  1 position, and it is an incredibly long sentence. This stretch of road has virtually no traffic, and every four decades a new version is constructed. Originally, it was 700 miles long from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania; in 1931, there was an extension that brought the road to Colorado as well. In 1937 the highway U.S. 6 became a transcontinental road, which reached California after a distance of 3,652 miles. In addition to Route 6, which is called The Land of Lincoln route, there is also the “Grand Army of the Republic Highway,” which is in honor of the Union soldiers of the Civil War. This resolution was taken by the same states independently through which the route passed and the dedication ceremony was conducted in 1953.

3.U.S. Route 30

Across the country are most distinctive stretch of road of its kind: the America’s Third-Longest Highway, which runs from Atlantic City to the floodplains of the Colombia river at Astoria, Oregon. As part of the numbered road system, it is the only highway that connects the eastern part of Canada with the district of British Columbia, the intercoastal part of Canada. To know riding U.S. 30 is little more than riding down what used to be the Lincoln Highway, an automobile route from coast to coast back in the day. Known as this president, the association adopted the name Lincoln Highway, however this road title changed in 1926 with the introduction of the numbering highway system, with the U.S. 30 now marking the journey from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Granger, Oregon.

4. Interstate 90

And although, it is not the longest road but it is the longest interstate road in the U.S. Highway System. The westernmost end of it, called The Emerald City, begins in Seattle, Washington, and then currently goes through 13 states before terminating in Boston, Massachusetts. It also has an important difference as the to way, which comprises 25% of its total route.

5. U.S. Route 50

On the other hand, the Beach Highway- an icon Route, which starts at Ocean City, Maryland and ends in Sacramento, California is only one of the routes linking up the east and the west coast of America as well. But the road itself has the Travel and Leisure magazine designation of being the Loneliest Road in America and it truly is a lesser travelled route. Many cities or towns are scarcely passed along this stretch and the western Nevada section is one of the least travelled highways and that isn’t all that bad at all. They will pass by incredible panorama of nature and get the idea of most surroundings on the land of USA.

6. U.S. Route 2

Here I will dwell on the name of this route preaching from the American North to the American Northeast. In said act, we obviously have a little bit of an oddity. The odd highway system names key east-west interstates as even-numbered choices separated by ten. First, the rings are next, and they’re also assigned in the same way as the north-to-south way. By proceeding with this plan, the northernmost way couldn’t be numbered zero routes, which was not super happy the planners with. Because all of the westbound routes were ascribed even numbers, the decision was made route number 2 is what this path would called.
