More on the Texas Frye Solar Project
On 11 April, it was announced that construction of the Frye Solar project was completed. The plant has a total capacity of 637 MW however, only 570 MW is in operation. The plant is located in Texas. Specifically, Kress City, Swisher County. What’s more, the Frye Solar facility has nearly one million solar panels. It is one of the largest solar facilities in the country. Repsol is also constructing the Outpost solar plant with 629 MW and Pinnington solar facility with 825 MW. This brings the company’s total renewable installed and under development capacity in Texas is 2,091 MW. Moreover, they already generate renewable electricity at its existing solar power plants in New Mexico, Jicarilla 1 and 2, with a total installed capacity of 125 MW and 20 MW of battery storage.
