Signia by Hilton Atlanta is the city’s largest ground-up hotel development in over four decades. The facility is located on what was formerly Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. The 976-room hotel is located at 159 Northside Drive. It marks the first Georgia hotel for the Signia by Hilton brand and the tallest building on downtown’s western flank. The Signia marks Atlanta’s fifth tallest all-hotel tower overall. Previously, the spot was taken by the 73-story Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel. Designed by John Portman, the building was completed in 1976.
The Project Team
The 1.25 million square-foot Signia project was developed by Boston-based Drew Company. Hilton also tapped into the Gensler architecture firm for interior and exterior designs. Additionally, a partnership between Skanska and SG Contracting worked as general contractor. The 453-foot-high hotel connects to the Georgia World Congress Center. The publicly owned property has created nearly a thousand new employment opportunities during its construction. Additionally, it will support nearly a thousand new jobs delivering millions in direct economic benefits and additional tax revenues to the state and the city during its operation.
Experiences at Signia by Hilton Atlanta
Guests will enjoy the hotel’s six signature food and beverage experiences. This includes an Italian-inspired kitchen and an upscale sports pub. Furthermore, an all-day dining restaurant featuring Southern cuisine, and a pool bar featuring craft cocktails and Southern picnic favorites. The first five floors of the hotel will feature amenities all visitors will be able to take advantage of, including, spa facilities, a pool terrace, fitness center, and Club Signia, an exclusive lounge offered as part of a privileges program reserved for top-paying guests. Signia by Hilton is also expected to feature the largest hotel ballroom in the entire state, measuring approximately 40,000 square feet.

The Hotel’s first guests
It is set to welcome its first guests this month.More than 1 million hours have put into the a site that routinely saw 600-plus workers on site at peak. The 42-story hotel contains 5,000-plus truckloads of concrete and features 302,728 square feet of glass.
“The men and women on this project have invested more than a million hours with no lost time incidents to achieve this pinnacle of construction on the world’s first newly-built Signia by Hilton property,” said Scott Cannon, executive vice president and general manager of Skanska’s Georgia and South Carolina Operations.
